2017 CNY Food Drive

Dear parents,

Our annual Chinese New Year food drive is here!

This year, as we celebrate the Year of the Rooster and Nanyang's 100 year anniversary, we will be having a class-initiated food drive project.

The rationale of the food drive is to nurture a sense of gratitude and empathy towards others in our children. This time, the children will also be taking a greater ownership in the entire process of packing and delivering.

We will be giving the donated food items to the elderly residents living in one-room flats, Yong-En Care Centre and last but not least, our very own school attendants, cleaners and security guards.

For P1- P2 children, their form teachers will be in touch with you shortly to organize this class project where they will plan and execute as a class with their teachers.

For P3 - P6 children, form teachers will facilitate by grouping the children and their group discussion for the allocation of items to bring based on a given list.

Do assist the children by checking that the food items have halal certification and a shelf life of at least 6 months before expiry.

We regret to inform that there is a strict list of food items to follow and will have to refuse any other items that are not on the list provided by the teachers.

Thank you for your help and cooperation!

If your child has food allergy, please ask him/her to check the ingredients with the volunteers at the booths before consuming the food.

It will be greatly appreciated if parents can donate CNY traditional goodies such as Bak Kwa, Love letters, Spring rolls, Pineapple Tarts, White Rabbit Candy, Gold Coins, and Haw Flakes etc.  Please drop off the goodies at the KRC General Office before Wednesday, January 18, 2017.
